HEALING CRISIS
What Is It?
This is a process of natural healing which can be experienced after a Reiki treatment or after many other holistic therapies. Although it can be uncomfortable, to become healthy it is essential that you go through the whole healing crisis, restoring you to positive health. The body heals by releasing and realigning itself. The Immune System works hard to purify and heal the body on many levels – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
Why Me?
After a treatment you may feel worse and assume that the treatment has not worked. But these reactions are signs that the treatment is working and that your body is going through the process of cleaning itself of impurities, toxins and imbalances.
Anyone can have a crisis at any age. There’s no rulebook to the length of the healing crisis, or even if you will experience one at all. A healing crisis can start immediately or within a few days or weeks.
Symptoms?
Symptoms usually pass within 1-3 days, but on rare occasions can last several weeks.
The healing crisis can bring about past conditions in whatever order the body is capable of handling at that time. People can overlook past diseases or injuries, and can be reminded during the crisis. There’s a wide range of reactions that may manifest during a healing crisis, the most common are: skin eruptions, boils, rashes, fatigue, insomnia, ear infections, sinus congestion, cramps, joint pain, muscle pain, nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, extreme fatigue, restlessness, headache, cold or flu-like symptoms, fever, chills, mood swings and emotions such as despair, sadness, fear or anxiety.
What should I Do During a Healing Crisis?
Drink plenty of water, herbal teas, juices, to help flush out any toxins. from your system. If you are feeling fatigued, or sleepy, your body is talking to you, and telling you to rest. Be kind to yourself, and get the rest that you need.
Always ensure your health by having a thorough medical check up. don't assume that if you have any of the above symptoms that you are in a healing crisis.
